Josephine has been a professional musician and educator since 1994. Specialising in flute, clarinet, saxophone and recorder, and has taught pupils of all age ranges in schools and privately in the Staffordshire Moorlands. All lessons are sculptured around the needs of the individual and both children and adults are welcome! Tuition is available privately or within schools (subject to availability).

Josephine caters for beginners to advanced in all woodwind instruments, flute, saxophone, clarinet and recorder. She also offers help to her pupils who are taking their GCSE and A Level music exams at school and will help them with their ensemble and solo performance pieces to enable them to pass the exams with the highest possible mark. Also, younger pupils are encouraged with Brownie and Guides Music Badges and the music section of the Duke of Edinburgh award. The lessons usually take place during the evening or Saturday to fit in with their schooling.

The private lessons are suited to school educated children as there are evening or Saturday lessons available, (subject to available spaces). The lessons offer further learning to add to their academic skills and self confidence and many of the students have tuition on more than one woodwind instrument. The lessons include aural and singing training and they take place in Leek, Staffordshire. Most communications between parents and Josephine are carried out verbally or by email or text. Tuition for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music and the Trinity Guildhall of London Grade examinations is also included if required.

Josephine teaches Music Theory for Associated Board grades 1-5 to enable the students to pass their grade 5 theory certificate. They will then be able to take their grade 6 or above practical examination, please ask for details.

Josephine has also had successes with pupils who have special educational needs including dyslexia, dyspraxia, Asperger's and Cerebral Palsy
. Everyone is given the chance to learn music as it helps with confidence, dexterity, academic studies, co-ordination and enjoyment. It also helps the pupil to make friends if they join an orchestra or wind band.
